Welcome to the Old Ephraim District blog page! Over the past few months there have been many changes in Scouting in our area. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints stopped chartering units on the first of January, the Elk Horn and Old Juniper districts were merged to create the Mt Naomi district, the Trapper Trails, Great Salt Lake and Utah National Parks councils were merged to create the Crossroads of the West Council and the Mt Naomi district was merged with several others to create the Old Ephraim district. All of these changes took place while we also experienced a worldwide virus pandemic, an earthquake, and a complete shutdown and quarantine of the entire country. Yet through all of those challenges, Scouting continues in our area. We may be smaller in numbers, but the program and the value it brings to our communities continues on.
We appreciate the patience and commitment of all of the volunteers in our new district area. The program doesn't happen without dedicated people willing to work through the challenges and hardships to bring the values of Scouting to our youth. As a district we hope to provide the resources and support you need to create and operate successful, effective scouting programs. Let us know what you need and how we can help you to accomplish that. At some point the challenges we currently face will let up and we can face the future with a greater determination and strength. We look forward to helping Scouting grow in our district as each of you work to create exciting, challenging and fun programs that will attract the attention of the youth and inspire them with a desire to be a part of something wonderful!
